Abrasive blasting, often referred to as Sandblasting is performed by blasting a high pressure stream of abrasive material against a surface to smooth a rough surface and remove rust, paint and other contaminants.
Kampen Machinefabriek offers a form of abrasive blasting called bead blasting. This process involved using fine glass beads instead of sand, blown at a high pressure on the article. The fine glass beads create a smoother finish than standard sand blasting.
Bead Blasting is particularly useful for applying to newly cut threads, especially fine threads which can be more susceptible to galling. By Bead Blasting the thread before it’s first use, any sharp edges left on the thread after the production process are removed, considerably reducing the risk of galling on the first use, and also allowing the makeup process to run smoother.
Our custom-made bead blasting unit has been designed with this purpose in mind to allow for the easy bead blasting of long threaded tubular items, as well as smaller drilling tools, cutters etc
